Use this for seed/Series A conversations and for UK government or grant applications (Innovate UK, regional growth funds, Levelling Up).
TradeBridge is the UK's first swipe-based app for finding local tradespeople. Think Tinder, but for plumbers and electricians. The problem we're tackling is straightforward: getting a quote today means posting a job and waiting days, trust is patchy (the CMA reckons around £1.4bn a year is lost to rogue traders), and most platforms make money by selling leads to tradespeople — so their incentive isn't really to make life better for the person at home.
We're building a mobile app where you set your location and filters, swipe on local tradespeople, and only chat once you've both matched. Verification and transparent pricing are built in from the start. Artisans use it for free; we make money from consumer subscriptions (Free, Plus, Pro).
The UK market for home repair, maintenance and domestic services is huge — about £42bn a year. We're aiming for £180k revenue in Year 1 and £2.4m by Year 3 in our target cities. The app is live: Flutter on iOS and Android, plus a web app and direct Android APK download. We have swipe, map, chat, job posts, Remy AI assistant, verification, premium plans, cost guide, job protection (£1k guarantee), book-a-slot and portfolio for artisans, saved-search alerts, one-tap rebook, safety tracking (location share and arrived/left check-in, Uber-style), and a community hub with links to official registers (Gas Safe, NICEIC, TrustMark, NAPIT) and open data (Postcodes.io, ONS). Designed with UK regulation in mind (DMCC Act 2025, CMA guidance).
We're raising £450k for 18 months: 55% product and engineering, 28% growth, 17% ops and legal. By month 18 we're targeting 25k monthly active users and £15k MRR.
The problem — Finding a tradesperson online still means search lists, postcode boxes and quote forms. You post a job on MyBuilder or Rated People and wait days for bids. Trust is a real issue: the CMA put the cost of rogue traders at roughly £1.4bn a year. The big players make money by selling leads to tradespeople, so their incentive doesn't align with "get the right person first time."
The opportunity — People are used to swiping for dating, jobs and rentals. Nobody's done it for hiring a plumber or electrician in the UK. The DMCC Act (2025) is tightening rules on fake reviews. A consumer-paid model means we're not charging tradespeople per lead. For government and grants, we're matching local demand with local trades.
How it works — Consumers set location and filters, swipe through artisan cards, like (or premium like), and when they like you back you get a mutual match and chat. Artisans sign up, verify (ID, trade credentials), build profile, receive likes, swipe to accept or pass, and on match they chat and win work. They can also browse job posts and express interest. We've built in verification, cost guide, £1k-style guarantee badge, safety tracking (customers can share location and mark arrived/left at the artisan's, Uber-style), and Remy the in-app assistant.
Why we win — We're the only one doing swipe + mutual match for trades in the UK. We charge consumers, not tradespeople. Mobile-first and verification-first. Swipe. Match. Hire.
